Release: Preview 8.3 - Bug Fixes


Thank you to everyone who's reported bugs! We've got quite a few things fixed this time.

Errors:

  • Fixed errors on the Faction screen.
  • Residents who did the Hunt job would have the meat added to both their inventory and the stash, which could cause errors. (Some current residents may still have meat in their inventory, taking it from them then adding it to stash should clear things up)
  • Bonedust caused an error when wearing off.
  • Fancy wine bottle attempting to reference the (no longer existent) wine recipe, caused an error on the study screen.
  • Splitting a stack of an item that grants a spell/ability (eg lava-proof boots) caused an error.

Interface:

  • Keyboard movement wasn't working right on the Faction screen.
  • Pushable items can now be pushed off of stairs rather than you using the stairs when trying to move into the tile.
  • Can now escape out of the Add Egg to Nest dialog.

Gameplay:

  • Darts no longer remain behind when they hit someone.
  • Fixing a disabled room advances time.
  • Curing a mutation that grants a spell or ability removes the spell/ability.
  • Dashing off the top of your tower causes you to fall to the ground reduced to 1 HP instead of getting stuck in the air.
  • Residents who've been meditating/training no longer drop knowledge items when they die.
  • Adding an egg to a nest no longer drops a duplicate of the egg on the ground.
  • I *believe* I've fixed maps sometimes generating with two large sections that aren't connected to each other, but this one is a tenacious and sneaky problem that I've thought I've fixed before, so please let me know if it reoccurs. (Sometimes there may be single tiny rooms unconnected, that's fine, I'll eventually put treasure in them)

Cosmetic:

  • Some items (eg meat) didn't maintain its name when combined into stacks in the stash, instead reverting to a generic name. Old items in the stash will still have this problem; they're still the right kind of item with the right stats, it just doesn't show the right name.
  • Lecturer no longer continuously brings up "begone from here!" dialog at you if you're in their line of sight while hostile.
  • Removed "[your name] dies!" message when you would die in your tower but are reduced to 1 HP instead.
  • Creatures dying in your tower would sometimes return as a phantom non-interactable version of themselves. If there are any of those in your tower, they should be removed next time you advance time.
