Release: Preview 1.2 - Bug Fixes


Bug fixing continues. This update did add some error catching around the types of errors that have popped up, so hopefully there'll be less crashes even if there are more bugs. Planning to get started working on the next magic type this week: Air! 

Crash Fixes

  • Fixed crash on Monsterpedia page
  • Fixed crash on Arcana increase screen when you're at max level at all arcana (or any potential crashes on multiselect screen in general when there's no options available)
  • Fixed crash that could occur when a projectile didn't have a valid target
  • Added error handling to secondary screens so they close and fall back to the main game screen (or main menu if game isn't started) if there's an error on them, rather than crashing
  • Added pre-emptive error handling to the advance turn code of entities so they'll catch and display errors rather than crashing

Non-Crash Bug Fixes

  • Attacking a feature with a vampiric weapon no longer causes an error
  • Ally kills now count for the undead extermination mission
  • Maps are now deleted properly at the end of a heist, so newly discovered locations should no longer take you to old locations
  • Potions of magic now RESTORE 50% of the max charges your spells as intended, instead of setting all your spells TO 50% of their max charges
  • Accepting the vampire prisoner rescue mission now actually gives you that mission instead of the undead extermination mission again

Balance Changes

  • The cost of increasing Magic Attributes is now 5 x level instead of 10 x level
  • Oneiromancy now gives 2 x level Mystic Insights
  • Increased starting debt to 5000 and reduced interest rate to 3%. Effectively, the interest increase is the same at first but it'll now take longer to pay off

NPC Behavior Changes

  • Followers should be better about actually following you now
  • Followers who already have a target will focus on their target if it's closer to them than the player's target, rather than always targeting the player's target no matter what
  • Vampire prisoner behavior has been modified. In addition to being better followers as above, they're now better at moving to map exits when they see them and not being in a permanent state of terror and scattering all over the map (though they will still run away from enemies they see)
